Greenock parkrun #154
Perfect Spring conditions greeted the 30 Harriers who made their way to the esplanade for the 154th Greenock parkrun. First back for the club was Paul Monagahan who was only 10 seconds of his previous best for the course with an impressive time of 16.58. Steven Watson crossed the line in 18.18 for 4 second overall pb for the distance. Fiona MacFarlane and Cheryl Thomas who were making their first parkrun appearances as Harriers both managed to record a course best as they crossed the line 23.34 and 23.51 respectively; two excellent times that are testament to the hard work that both have been putting in at the Wednesday night sessions under the guidance of coach Alan O’Rourke. Alan himself also put in a solid run, coming home in 19.28; his fastest parkrun time in over a year and a half. It was a another milestone week with Andrew Osborne and Marianne McKay both completing their 50th parkrun. If you’d like to follow in the footsteps of Marianne, Andrew and the others, remember that parkrun is completely free and to get involved all you have to do is register online at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/ , print off your unique barcode and bring it along with you to the Campbell Street end of the esplanade for a 9.30am start on a Saturday morning.
