More accustomed to the 100m competition, Simon stepped up age group to challenge the fastest senior men on the day. A solid start saw Simon chasing his more experienced opponents however hitting top speed through the halfway mark Simon concentrated on his plan and held speed and form through the finish line where the photofinish awarded a second place finish in a new best of 11.17 seconds.
