MacTuff Scotland 2024

On Sunday 7th January, Andy McCall, Stephen Harrison and Micky Dunn represented the club at this year’s MacTuff Scotland event.

The course is an extremely difficult 21 kilometre run over rough terrain, mud, ice, and freezing water. To add to the difficulty, competitive runners face obligatory course obstacles which must be attempted to avoid a time penalty – including net climbs, rope climbs, and submerged tunnel crawls. The course finishes with a full lap of Knockhill Racing circuit.

The temperature on the day was a staggering minus four degrees Centigrade, making conditions even more harrowing.

Andy ran an absolute blinder on the day and did the club proud by taking first place. Stephen managed a creditable fourth place by holding off the pack over the race track section. Unfortunately Micky was pulled from the race by the event medical team after showing signs of severe cold fatigue. He recovered quickly with no ill effects.
