There were some great runs on Saturday at Bellahouston Park over a very muddy course.
As our only representative in the Under 11 girls race, Stella McCabe performed superbly and managed to record 21st place out of 70 runners, with a time of 5:37. In the U17 (mixed) category, Lewis McCrae did us proud with a 3rd place overall in a time of 20:43 minutes. Evie Harrison managed 5th placed girl with a time of 27:32. The U17 teams are currently sitting 5th (M) and 4th (F) going into the last league event.
Unfortunately we had no Senior runners taking part, but in the Mixed Masters event Lynne Harrison was first harrier home with a time of 38:31 and 12th female overall. Other female runners performed well too, with strong efforts from Sarah Jane Whalen, Helen Crawford and Charlotte McKay who all helped the Ladies Masters team to secure 4th place.
In the Men’s event, Frank McMahon continued his fine run of form with a time of 39:26, despite a bad fall on the first lap. Stephen Harrison was really struggling after a breathing problem in lap 2 but held on to scrape home as 3rd harrier, just ahead of Paul Meehan. Great runs from Gerry Gallagher and Stuart Crawford put the team into 8th position from 17 going into the last league race at Erskine.
