DAAA Clydebank 10 mile Road Race, 12th April 2026
Three Harriers toed the line of the race which incorporated two local championship events – the local DAAA (Dumbartonshire clubs champs) and the West District 10 mile champs.
Run of the day was from Jamie McEwan who was celebrating one year since his first ever race, a 10k in Glasgow. One year on, he’s since joined the club and smashed the 10 mile race. During the race Jamie went on to beat his 10km PB, showing the pace he was going out. The wind assisted first mile meant everyone was quick out the blocks, however that last mile was going to be tough. Jamie tucked in with a brilliant group which stayed together for the majority of the race. Jamie’s strength showed in the last windy mile where he pushed on to finish an incredible 10th place overall (8th in the West) in 58:53, smashing his 10 mile from the Docherty Cup the previous week (59:27).
Andy McCall had put in a hard week of training and wasn’t sure how the race would go. Consistent splits and in a great battle with Garscube’s Euan Convery, McCall was really happy with 2nd quickest time over the distance, finishing 7th overall (5th in the West) in 56:43.
Rounding up the trio was Nathalie Smith who ran an excellent race until around 13km where her achilles pain started to play up and she cruised in the rest of the way. Nathalie finished 3rd v50 in 1:24:41.

Glasgow Up and Running Festival, 18th / 19th April 2026
Podium places all round for runners representing Greenock Glenpark Harriers at this one! In the half marathon, Stephen Trainer put in a superb performance to take gold in a time of 1.13.21, followed by John Logan in 1.15.24 for bronze, and Graeme Percival in fourth with a time of 1.17.40. The boys have been putting in the hard miles in training and it really paid of here! Further down the field were Campbell McFarlane and James Eardley, both across the line in 1:58.
In the 5k, a fantastic effort from young Orla Trainer saw her finish in 21:55 and third place.

Kaim Hill Race, April 17th 2026
Trail specialist Viki Smith put in a great effort over the hills, going 53:52 for 2nd place in the F50 category. Fresh from the DAAA a few days earlier, Nathalie Smith also took part in this Wednesday night trail run, going over the line for 4th in her age category in 1:19:49.

Manchester Marathon, 18th April 2026
GGH Club Secretary John Stevenson had a great run in Manchester, beating his previous effort on that course by over 35 minutes. John put his extra speed down to the fact he had to be out of his hotel room by 2pm so needed to be back as quickly as possible! John’s time of 3:23:53 put him 80th in his age category.

Fast ‘n’ Flat, Linlithgow 18th April 2026
Some strong representation from our runners across the races at this one, Lewis Khan having the standout run of the day with a massive pb over the distance (16:40). John Logan, who would complete the Glasgow Running Half Marathon the following day, ran 16:49, his 2nd quickest 5km time; Duncan Anderson 18:15 and Andrew McKenzie keeping up his recent form with 19:19.
