Saturday 24th August

Tom Robb Trail Race

Only two weeks after completing the Devil O’ The Highlands Ultra Marathon, William Taylor went on to run the Tom Robb 7 miles Trail Race held within the Carron Valley area. William finished a creditable 53rd place in 57 mins 48 secs.

Bute Highland Games 10km

After our junior stars took to the field to race (report to follow), the senior members went on to tackle the 10k on the Isle of Bute. First home in a new PB by 20 secs was youngster Lewis McCrae, finishing in 7th place overall and winning the prize for the first local runner over the line – just reward for the hard work in training that Lewis has been putting in recently. The race set off a little earlier than planned which caught a few off guard which included Wes. Despite having set off later than the rest of the field, Wes went out hard to catch as many as he could, and get his head into the race at that point. Wes finished a creditable 8th place. Stevie Campbell was next to cross the line, taking the 1st V50 prize. It was great to see Stevie McLoone lacing up for a race again, and he also took home the prize for the 1st V60 followed by team mate Robin Mcauslan who took 2nd in the same category, and a marked improvement on his previous 10km race only a few weeks before. Adding yet another 10k race to her fantastic summer of running was ever present Charlotte McKay who finished well up in the female V60 category.
