Loch Lomond Beastie Aquathlon

Saturday 30th July 2022

On Saturday 30th July, Loch Lomond Triathlon Club and competitors alike were delighted at the return of the Beastie Aquathlon. The two previous years’ competitions were cancelled due to the COVID restrictions. The Beastie Aquathlon has a reputation of being one of the most challenging and exciting Aquathlons in the UK.

Set in the beautiful and historic Balloch Country Park on the banks of Loch Lomond, the Aquathlon comprised a 1000m swim in the Loch, followed by a 5k run; finishing in front of the castle (where Oasis, Runrig and REM played many moons ago).

Marian Monk, Danny McLaughlin and Campbell Cromar represented the club once again at this their second Swim/Run event of the 2022 racing calendar.

Once again our new lady Captain put the men in their place by winning the V50 ladies gold and placing 2nd female overall – beating both Danny and Campbell in the run!
