Gerry recently completed his fourth Marcothon Challenge – running every day in December. Gerry is consistently turns out in the famous Harrier’s Vest and has a particular love of cross country. Gerry used his completing his 4th Marco to share the importance of running in his life over 2024 and beyond.
“While I’ve proudly completed this challenge before (2012, 2019, 2020), this year has undoubtedly been the toughest. Despite all the obstacles, misfortune, and the significant mental health challenges I’ve faced in 2024, I kept putting one foot in front of the other for 31 consecutive days.
Huge thanks to my incredible partner Sarah Jane – your support, encouragement and company on our runs has meant more than you know. Running and fitness has been a lifeline for my mental health this year, and having you by my side understanding and supporting me through it all has made all the difference.
Crossing this finish line feels extra special – it’s not just about completing the Marcothon, it’s about ending 2024 on my own terms with a huge positive achievement.
Here’s to resilience, determination, love, and running into 2025!
“
