Paisley 10k 2026

Sunday 16th August 2026 – A smaller  contingent of Harriers made their way to Paisley this year for the Annual One Ren Paisley 10k, but there were still a respectable 17 runners wearing the light blue and yellow vests as the race kicked off on an ideal Sunday morning.

LADIES RACE – Lorna Mitchell had the highest category finish by a Harrier on the day, a great run of 43:57 putting her 4th in the F50 Group. Terri Wall also managed a top ten category place in the F60 race, 51:42 at the finish putting her in 7th place. Next home for the ladies was Sarah Jane Whalen, going under the hour again with 58:11 for 41st F50. Angela Devlin was next home in 1:03:56, just over the hour for 73rd F50. Doris Heron continues to improve in the F60 group with a category 42nd in 1:05:07, and the ladies group was rounded off by Lorna MacLean in 1:11:12.

MENS RACE – Matthew Deegan was first home for the Greenock Club on the day, improving on his Bill Elder time by being the only sub 40 finisher for the Harriers with 39:51, another great run from Matthew. Just behind him and agonisingly close to the 40th minute mark was Malcolm Maclean in 40:54. Gerry Gallacher somehow found himself running with the elite group at the start, being at the tape when the gun went off, but had another fine run for his finishing time of 43:44. Gordon Robertson had the highest category finish for the men in the V60 grouping, a great time of 46:57 putting him in 18th place. Perhaps feeling the effect of his recent efforts at Dunoon’s coastal 10k and the club’s Bill Elder 10k, Alan Robertson finished with a time of 46:33, just ahead of Stephen Cambell in 46:34. Paul Meahan was next in 47:03, and the men’s race was completed by Philip Melvin (53:47), David McDiarmid (54:59), Robert Conn (1:03:56), and Alan Henderson (1:06:45).
